The Brief

A cafe owner in Damac Hills 1 wanted their existing space refreshed and rebranded — same footprint, completely new feel. The scope covered everything that shapes how a cafe looks and feels: new flooring, a full repaint, updated joinery, electrical modifications to suit the new layout, and signage and graphics to bring the brand properly to life. The goal was a space that felt new to every customer who walked back in.

The Challenge

Refreshing and rebranding an existing cafe in two to three weeks meant there was no margin for delays at any stage — every trade had to be ready to move the moment the one before it was done. The existing electrical layout didn’t align with the new interior design, requiring more extensive modifications than a standard refresh would typically demand. Ensuring the new signage and graphics were produced, delivered, and applied within the same compressed window as the civil works required tight coordination between fabrication and on-site progress.

Our Approach

With a two to three week window and an owner eager to reopen, we planned the entire job as one tight sequence — no trade waiting on another, no rework. Electrical modifications were mapped and completed before any surface finishes went in. Flooring and painting ran in parallel across different zones. Joinery was fabricated off-site and brought in for installation once the walls and floors were done. Signage and graphics were the final layer — applied to a finished, clean space so the branding landed exactly as designed.

The Execution Journey

One project manager ran the site daily. Civil works set out partitions and floor levels in the first week while ducting arrived; MEP first-fix was photographed and signed off before a single wall was closed. Joinery — the counter, banquettes, and shelving — was produced in the workshop from approved shop drawings while site works continued, then installed in two days. The illuminated façade signage was approved, fabricated, and mounted in the final week, and the space was deep-cleaned and snagged before the client walked through.

What We Delivered

  • Full flooring installation throughout the cafe
  • Complete interior repaint to the new brand palette
  • Electrical modifications — points repositioned and updated to suit the refreshed layout
  • Custom joinery built to brief and installed on site
  • Internal and external signage fabricated and installed
  • Brand graphics applied throughout the space

The Final Outcome

The café opened two days ahead of the deadline, fully approved and fully operational from the first service. The client got what they had actually bought: not just a finished space, but an opening date kept, a kitchen that passed inspection first time, and a fit-out built to survive the daily rush. They have since signed an AMC with us to keep it that way.

Timeline

01 — Understanding the Requirement
Full brief taken from the cafe owner — new brand direction, flooring preferences, joinery requirements, electrical changes needed, and signage specs all captured before any planning began.

02 — Site Visit & Technical Study
On-site survey of existing flooring, wall conditions, electrical routing, and joinery positions. Signage fixing points and substrate types checked. Full scope confirmed against the brief.

03 — Planning & Scope Finalization
Every element documented and approved — flooring type and layout, paint colours, joinery drawings, electrical modification plan, and signage artwork signed off before work began.

04 — Material & Execution Schedule
Flooring, paint, and electrical materials staged on site. Joinery sent into fabrication. Signage artwork submitted for production. Trade sequence locked — electrical first, then floors and walls, then joinery, then graphics.

05 — On-Site Execution
Electrical modifications completed and tested. New flooring laid throughout. Full repaint carried out to the approved colour scheme. Joinery delivered and installed. Signage and brand graphics applied as the final finish.

06 — Quality Check
Flooring joints, paint edges, joinery fit, electrical function, and signage alignment all inspected against the approved scope. Snags resolved before the client walkthrough.

07 — Final Handover
Full cafe cleaned down, walkthrough with the owner, and space handed over ready to reopen — rebranded, refreshed, and finished on time.
